Based on reviews posted on popular review sites as well as from Acer Nitro 5's website, Acer Nitro 5 performs very well in terms of variety of connection ports relative to other gaming laptop stores.

The review site laptopmag.com gives Acer Nitro 5 excellent ratings for variety of connection ports in a review posted on its website. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

For a budget machine, the Nitro 5 has a wealth of ports. On the right side you'll find a 3.5mm headphone/mic combo jack, two USB 2.0 ports and a power port. There, you'll find an SD card reader, a USB 3.0, an HDMI, a USB 3.1 (yes, that's four total USBs), a Gigabit Ethernet and a Kensington lock.

The review site pcmag.com gives Acer Nitro 5 excellent ratings for variety of connection ports in a review posted on its website. Here's a brief quote from this review:

The edges are mildly sculpted, too, and they feature a modest selection of ports. On the left, you'll find a Kensington lock slot next to a compact Ethernet port that expands to accept the plastic locking tab on an Ethernet cord. There's also a USB-C port (but it doesn't support Thunderbolt 3), an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, and an SD card reader. Meanwhile, two USB 2.0 ports, an audio-out jack, and a power connector live on the right edge. If you have a massive game collection stored on a few external hard drives, you might lament the lack of a second USB-C or USB 3.0 port, but you'll be fine if you're just plugging in an external mouse and keyboard. The Nitro 5 also includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

On the left edge is a regular-sized SD card reader, USB 3.0 slot, HDMI 2.0 output, USB-C, Gigabit Ethernet port and a Kensington Security slot. On the right, you’ll find a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack and the power cable socket.
